David's Story
M. David Lambert 1958-2003 |
David Lambert enjoyed a life better than he ever imagined. His best friend was his wife, he had three beautiful young children, and he had a strong relationship with God. But at the age of 42, David was diagnosed with with terminal cancer. His doctors gave him three to six months to live. David once again turned to God. He surrounded himself with Scripture and uplifting spiritual music. He consistently set a good example to everyone he met in the medical profession, his neighbors, his church family, and most importantly, his wife and children.
As David's cancer treatments progressed, he lost the feeling in his fingers and was unable to hold his Bible. His pastor, Milt Johnson of Chantilly Bible Church, assembled his favorite Scripture verses on cards and secured them on a ring. This allowed visitors to sit by David's bed and read him the verses he so dearly loved. The ring of verses brought a visible peace to David and came to be his most prized possession.
David went home to be with the Lord twenty-six months after he was diagnosed. He said many times that if his passing resulted in one person being brought to Christ, it was worth it.
David's Ring® is his legacy. May you also be blessed by "holding on" to these verses. |
